Before Your Visit
Appointments & Insurance
How do I make an appointment with Dr. Youssef?
Patients can make an appointment by calling our office at (888) 916-7284 or by requesting one online. We typically see patients in our Little Falls office on Tuesdays and our Bayonne office on Fridays. We also offer telehealth appointments for added convenience, including second-opinion consultations.
Do I need a referral to make an appointment?
Referral requirements depend on your insurance plan. Some plans require a referral from your primary care physician, while others do not. We recommend checking with your insurer, and our team is happy to help.
What should I bring to my first appointment?
Please bring a photo ID, your insurance card, a list of current medications, and any relevant medical records or imaging.
Do you take my insurance?
We accept a large number of both private and governmentally supported insurance plans. This list is long and constantly changing, so please contact our office to determine if we participate with your insurance.
Does insurance cover weight-loss surgery?
Many insurance plans cover bariatric surgery when specific criteria are met, though requirements vary. Our team can help you understand your coverage and any pre-authorization steps.
Your Procedure
Surgery & Recovery
What is minimally invasive surgery?
Minimally invasive surgery uses small incisions and specialized instruments — including laparoscopic and robotic techniques — instead of a single large incision. This typically means less pain, smaller scars, and a faster recovery.
How long is recovery after surgery?
Recovery varies by procedure and individual. Minimally invasive procedures generally allow a quicker return to normal activity. Dr. Youssef will review what to expect for your specific surgery.
